When you receive your smilax, please open the boxes, remove the bags and check the condition to make sure that they did not get too hot or cold during transit. The bales are compressed to fit in the box, so gently fluff the vine inside the bag, lightly mist and fold over the top without sealing the bag. Store in a cooler or cool room, out of the sunlight, until ready to use. Do NOT allow the smilax to freeze. During the majority of the season, the smilax is hardy enough to last two weeks or more in a cooler and several days in an airconditioned room.
Do not take the smilax out of the bag until you are ready to use. It will be very difficult to get back in the bag!
